first fashion train spotting in awhile. clothes are really the only way people will see you. you should always tell someone if they look good!
i made the assumption that this was a $$$$ look but the dude in question told me the full fit(? at least the skirt) was from beacon’s (not Beacon). made me think about how the clothes i wear the most are often the pieces i bought off the cuff somewhere cheap and it really doesn’t have to be that agonized over. trust the feeling. as we get older i feel like compulsivity leaves us.
i will say irl vintage shopping in nyc is getting soooo expensive & if i was even one pay grade higher i’d have so many beautiful designer clothes in my closet but maybe clothing is more about ambiance… i was ready to hate on the new double virgo release that has 36 tracks but i have to admit the songs all contribute to a mood/the band’s world in a way that feels invaluable to their cohesion. we all can have a miscl selection of clothes that don’t all feel individually special but build up to a greater whole (who we are!).
this is kinda how i feel when the same three artists play together every show/party, like maybe you are all the best at what you do but maybe the curation that sticks with us is discovering something new that is right in the moment. scenes feel shortsighted to me. let new things into your circle. don’t always trust your friends!!!
