what men should be wearing
my very first gig style report…
went to the avery tucker / sweet93 gig last night (very good) and clocked two ppl in M / F versions of a striped long sleeve polo .. like not a finance bro vibe but simply looking like they have an interesting life enough to not care but also be subtly perceived… they could live in literally any neighborhood in nyc inoffensively. kinda like this vibe.
you can recreate this look at one of my personal “hidden gems” of shoreditch ie where you can find new zealand’s answer to american apparel. i picked up this exact shirt the last time i was there to perfectly oscillate between a downpour and sun in the hours long journey between south and east london.
speaking of being British i discovered this brand when i was (online) shopping for heavy knits in the summer (the most economical way to do it) & this wide short sleeve polo also feels a cut above in a way i can’t exact put my finger on? extremely English when they talk about the designer’s “enduring post-punk, DIY attitude” but also…. yeah…..
i can’t tell where these clothes are from but that’s kind of the point. you could be anyone.
i think the whole point of a capsule wardrobe and being a cool person is your life is alive enough to wear the same thing for 24 hours straight. wear something where you don’t need to go home !!!
last night avery played some old girlpool songs which i didn’t know bc i only like the new album… here’s my favorite song.
